MR. ANEURIN BEVAN, Minister of Health in Britain’s Labour Government. He is in charge of the health scheme proposals which are opposed by the British Medical Association. Mr. Bevan has been Labour M.P. for Ebbw Vale, South Wales, since 1929. The son of a Welsh coalminer, he began his career in the mines at the age of 13. His wife, Jenny Lee, the daughter of a Fifeshire miner, is also a Labour M.P.
