MISSING DINGHY
EXTENSIVE SEARCH PROVES FRUITLESS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 5. Six aircraft which Hew over an extensive areaAand a thorough search along the coast by parties .under the control of die Wellington police, failed to find a trace of the dinghy and its three occupants reported missing from Ohiro Bay on Sunday evening. Two Hudsons, one from Ohakea and the other from Wigram, and a Catalina from Auckland searched an area of 1400 square miles from Karon light to east of White Bluffs, in Marlborough, and 40 miles to the southeast. Two R.N.Z.A.F. Halyards searched an area five miles wide..from Baring Head to Cape Palliser. A thi,rd Harvard searched the shoreline to Palliser Bay, also 10 miles up the east coast north of Palliser Bay and 10 miles south-east, out to sea.
