WRESTLING McCready Beats Kaempfer

A capacity house in the Town Hall saw Earl McCready (17st 11b) defeat Hank Kaempfer (16st 81b), in a professional wrestling contest, when the latter was judged unfit to continue at the beginning of the sixth round. Kaempfer secured a fall in the fourth round with a giant swing and. body press, while McCready equalised in the fifth with a body press, following a back loop slam. At the beginning of the next round, Kaempfer, still very groggy, came out of 'his corner, but as McCready lifted his opponent for another dump the referee intervened, and awarded the bout to McCready. Blomfield Beats Pencheff (P.A.) NAPIER, Aug. 5. Gaining a fall at the opening of the first round “Lofty” Blomfield defeated George Pencheff on Saturday evening in a grand exhibition. Blomfield walked straight in with the opening gong and with an elbow jolt to tlie jaw knocked Pencheff sprawling. Blomfield followed up with a body press to gain the only fall of the bout, which was marked by spectacular incidents. Both men took and gave heavy punishment.
