EARTHQUAKE SHOCK
CHILEAN’ TOWNS SHAKEN SANTIAGO, August 3. A severe earthquake shook the city of Copiapo, in Northern Chile, with a population of 15,000. It did considerable damage, mostly to older buildings, many of which were destroyed. but only fXvo persons were killed. ' Port Laserena, with a population of 21,000, and Vallenar, with a population of 8000, were also severely shaken.
