AUSTRALIA Serious Demonstration at Caulfield

MELBOURNE, Aug. 4. The worst demonstration in Melbourne racing for some time took place at Caulfield yesterday, when the favourite. Solvent, was beaten into third place by First Aid and Jocularity in the Australian Hurdle. The stipendary stewards, took some evidence in an inquiry into Solvent’s running and adjourned the inquiry until Monday. The winner ran the distance in record time.
