DANISH PRODUCE

DETAILS OF BRITISH AGREEMENT LONDON, August 4. The quantities of Danish food to be sent to Britain in 1946 under the new agreement, according to The Times, will be 50,000 tons of butter, 40,000 tons of bacon, and also 85 per cent, of the exportable surplus of fresh eggs. The Times says that both sides are endeavouring to return to an early maximum exchange of products. To this end both have made sacrifices in reaching the new agreement. Britain, according to Reuter s Copenhagen correspondent, is paying 23d a pound for Danish butter and 16d for bacon under the new BritishDanish trade pact—an increase of 3d a pound for butter and 3?>d a pound for-bacon.
