ICE-CREAM DIAGNOSED AS. SOURCE
(Rec. 1 p.m.) LONDON, August 4. Ice-cream has been officially diagnosed as the source of an epidemic of typhoid fever in the crowded seaside holiday town, of Aberystwyth, sqys the Daily Express. With 14 new cases 57 persons from three to 20 years old are at present in hospital. A check following the first six cases showed that they all bought ice-cream from a vendor who pre-, yiously had had typhoid. He agreed immediately to stop selling. A medical officer’s statement says: “Not a single case occurred outside the original source of infection, which was iae-cream.”
