CHINESE COMMUNISTS’ . , CLAIMS NANKING, August 2. The Communist New China News Agency claimed that Communist forces on July 27 annihilated a division of the National Government’s American-equipped 99th Army in a battle on the north bank of the Yangtse river in the Kiangsu province. It added that the Government’s 49th Army was wiped out less than a fortnight ago.
