Greymouth Rainfall.
During last month 12.19 inches or rain were recorded at Greymouth m the 21 days on which rain fell, as compared with 6.56 inches on _ days in July of last year. The iamfall at Grey mouth for tins year to the end of July totalled 51.99 . inches, as compared with 64.06 inches for the corresponding period last year.
Power for Lime Works. In the recent article in the Evening Star dealing with the need for power for the Ross lime works, the actual, and potential requirements of the'company were under-stated. At present, the power unit at the works is a 28 h.p. diesel engine, but with the installation of new plant the company requires immediately power for electric motors totalling 150 h.p. Ultimately, it is expected, 500 h.p. will be needed.
