POACHING CHARGES
POLICE SERGEANT AND CONSTABLE " LAKE HERON CASES (PA.) ASHBURTON, Aug. 2. Fines totalling £42/10/- were imposed by Mr. G. G. Chisholm, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Ashburton this morning on Neville Boag, Stanley Holder, Jim Weir, and Robert B. Hart on two charges of taking acclimatised fish from Lake Heron by means other than a rod and line and taking fish during the closed season. • It was mentioned to the court by counsel for the Acclimatisation Society that Holder was a police sergeant and Boag was a constable. Weir was fined £7/10/- on one charge and all the defendants were fined £5 each on the other, charges,-
