DANISH AGREEMENT
UNLIKELY TO INCREASE / RATIONS ,
(Rec. 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 1. Announcing the Danish agreement for the supply of butter, bacon and eggs to the end of September, 1949, the Minister of Food, Mr. Strachey, in the House of Commons advised against the conclusion that rations would be increased as a consequence. He added that the Danish prices in the first year would be higher than Britain was paying for similar commodities from other countries. This was owing to the high Danish production cost.
