To-day’s News from Riccarton [SPECIAL TO STAR.] RICCARTON, Aug. 2. There is every promise to-day of fine weather for to-morrow's races. The track will be on the firm side. Typhoon, who was easily beaten by Tutere in a gallop yesterday, was in a bad way. Later it was decided to send him home last night. Additional riding engagements for to-morrow include: C. Typhoon was scratched for all engagements at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s 'meeting at 9.40 a.m. to-day. and Dash o’ Dink for the Paparua Handicap at 9.55 a.m. Slayer was scratched for the Grand National Steeplechase at 11.55 a.m. and Lowry Bay for the Winter Cup at 12.30 p.m.
