GOLF Winter Championship Draw Announced

Arrangements have been completed for the Greymouth Golf Club’s winter championship tournament, which will be held at the Kaiata links during the week-end. The number of entries is large and, with the links in excellent condition, a high standard of play is expected. The following is the draw for the men’s senior, intermediate, and junior championships, to be played over 36 holes,. commencing at 9 a.m. to-fnorrow:—

No. 1 Tee.—Hill, Lawrence, Gardyne; Caulton, M. Smith, G. August; Rhodes, Lancaster, Anderson; Chivers, Anson, W. August; Foster, Coburn, Nolan; Garth, Doyle, Woodward; Brown, Fogarty, Turner; Lindley, Humphries, Taylor; McNulty, Boustridge, Corcoran; Woodhouse, Ray, Thurlow. No. 5 Tee. —Cox, Blackie, McCrae; Cameron, O’Donnell, Watts; Sanson, Fitzgerald, Eadie; Hutchison, Bierworth, Ryan, F. Woodhouse; Brayshay, J. Smith, Robertson, Murdoch; Meldrum, Thorpy, A. Smith. ■ The women’s Ray and Victory Cups will be competed for to-mor-row morning,' when the qualifying and medal rounds will be played. There will also be an award for the best gross score. The following is the draw:—

A. J. Shaw for Hastings (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 31. A. J. Shaw, the former New Zealand open and professional champion, has accepted a position with the Hastings Golf Club as a professional. He ’ will leave on Monday to take up his new position.
