RUGBY LEAGUE Itinerary Arranged for English Team
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 30. A short New Zealand tour will be made by the English Rugby League team which is now in Australia. This announcement was made by the president of the New Zealand. Rugby League (Mr. J; Redwood)' to-night. Mb. Redwood said that the Englishmen would fly to Auckland on July 22, and remain in the Dominion for three weeks, leaving Auckland by air for Australia bn August 12. ‘confirmation of these arrangements had been received from the team authorities in Australia. Englishmen would be prepared to make a longer ’stay in the Dominion and play additional matches, he said. The following itinerary was approved:—July 27, South Island, at Christchurch; July 29, West Coast, at. Greymouth; July 31, at Wellington, the team to be decided; August 3, Auckland; August 7, South Auckland, at Huntly; August 10, New Zealand, at Auckland.
Teams fol’ Week-end ■ Matches Rugby League fixtures will be played both to-morrow and on Sunday this week-end, some of the lower-grade matches having been set down for to-morrow. The following teams have been announced:— Kohinoor Club Juniors: Curtis, Fraser, McClelland, Nelson, Frampton, Innes, Robertson, Longley, Watson, Reid, Crossan, Balden, Walker. (Bus leaves at 1 p.m.). Marist Club Third Grade: Barclay (2), Louden, Meates, Hanrahan, Griffen, Drummond, Kelly, Dunn, Keating, Knapp (2), Hewison, Crooks, Brady. Fourth Grade: McKenzie, Graham, O’Leary (2), Brown (2), Millar, Kennedy, Griffen, Longley, Costello, McGrath, Stapleton, Curtain, and McMillan. '
