PHASES OF THE MOON. New Moon .. May 31 .. 8.19 a.m. — HIGH WATER, MAY, 1946. May 31—10.25 a.m.; 10.53 p.m. ARRIVAL. Thursday, May 30. Kartigi, s.s. (10.47 p.m.), 2347 tons, McGarry, from Auckland. Union Steam Ship Coy., Ltd., agents. EXPECTED ARRIVAL. Napier.—The Poolta sailed for Greymouth at 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday. 1 , New Plymouth.— The Holmlea sailed for Greymouth at 1.30 p.m. yesterday. COASTWISE MOVEMENTS. The Kartigi arrived from Auckland last evening. She is loading coal today and will sail for - Westport this evening to complete her cargo lor Auckland.
The Poolta is scheduled to arrive from Napier to-morrow morning to load coal for Gisborne. The Holmlea js expected from New Plymouth this evening. The Kaimai has been delayed in Wellington by crew shortage. The Rata is expected this evening to load coal for Nelson. The Gabriella was expected to leave Wellington: to-day for Greymouth, carrying general cargo.
