TWENTY SHIPS IDLE
STEVEDORES’ STRIKE AT LONDON LONDON, May 29. Twenty ships, some carrying food, are immobilised by the London stevedores’ strike. Two thousand stevedores from three docks struck on May 27 in support of their demand for restoration of the pre-war right to nominate their sons for work at the- docks.
