GREATER OPPORTUNITIES FOR RECRUITS
(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 29. Greater opportunities in the British Colonial Service will be provided for recruits from Britain and the Dominions, especially women, under a scheme announced by the Colonial Office. ■
The Government .will provide £1,000,000 over a ten years’ period to pay for the training of selected colonial candidates to qualify them for higher grades. The training for selection will include scholarships of local colleges and universities, and of educational establishments overseas. Another sum of £1,500,000 will be provided, also over a 10-year period, for the post-selection training of European colonial, candidates.
