ARAB RULERS

SECRET CONCLAVE NEAR CAIRQ CALLED BY KING FAROUK CAIRO, May 28. The rulers of the seven Arab States met in secret conclave at King Farouk’s country estate, 30 miles east of Cairo, where they talked for one and a-half hours. King Farouk called this first meeting of the rulers and heads of the States comprising the Arab League. , A squadron 01 Royal Air Force Spitfires patrolled overhead during the meeting, at which -Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and Transjordan were represented. Ten thousand troops were on guard round the meeting place. Anti-aircraft guns were placed every half-mile for 15 miles along the road, the bridges of which were closed and the drawbridges raised. ' „ A , The Secretary-General of the Arab League Assembly said that the rulers would draw up a general outline of policy for the Arab League’s guidance. The Palestine Arab Higher Committee has sent a memorandum to the High Commissioner (Sir Alan Cunningham) urging the immediate repatriation of all Arab political exiles and the release of all Arab political internees. The Note specified five Arabs detained in the Seychelles.
