Causes of Mutiny.
Vice-Admiral Godfrey, flag officer at the time of the Royal Indian Navy disturbances, told the commission of inquiry that one of the causes of dissatisfaction was the fact that only 66 permanent commissions were offered totmembers of the Royal Indian Navy. “I would like the number doubled, but I have been unable to get the Government to agree,” he added.—New Delhi, April 23.
