AUSTRALIA Favourite, Cordale, Wins Sydney Cup SYDNEY, April 22. The favourite, Cordale, won the Sydney Cup at Randwick this afternoon by a long neck from Swan River, with Russia two lengths away third. Swan River led 50 yards froip home, but Cordale, which had swept up on the outside, wore hi m down in the run to the judge. Bernborough won the All-Aged Stakes in a canter. It was Bernborough’s eighth consecutive win, bringing his winnings to more than £lO,OOO. The attendance was estimated at 75,000. Results: — C. W.
