SAFE-BREAKERS BUSY
FOUR AUCKLAND PREMISES ENTERED
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 23. Safe-breakers raided four Auckland city business premises in broad daylight on Sunday. They gehgnited two safes and secured substantial sums of money from each, were unable to open another safe after exploding a charge in the keyhole, and on the fourth occasion they were disturbed when about to blow the safe, escaping when a member of the firm entered the front door. He found a charge of gelignite plugged into the safe keyhole with a detonator fitted. Apparently the safebreakers were about to fix the fuse when they decided ,to .make a hasty exit. Police investigations are continuing.
