Wave of Terror in Poland.
Strongly-armed bands of anti-So-viet Ukrainian Nationalists have again carried a torch of terror into southeastern Poland, crossing the Russian frontier, burning scores of Polish villages, carrying off livestock, and leaving thousands of peasants homeless,
reports the Associated Press correspondent in a dispatch from Rzeszow. The bands have burned down 800 villages in the last few months and killed 100 inhabitants. Poles all sleep in their clothes in south-eastern Poland. Their valuables are hidden and alarm signals are rigged. The wave of terror is being countered by several divisions
of Polish, militia and members of the Security Corps, who have killed 1000 Ukrainians and taken 4000 prisoners. The terror is believed to be a retaliation for the transfer of the Ukrainians from their former area to Russian territory. This was done under the Moscow-Warsaw agreement.—Londone, April 20.
