REEFTON EASTER HOLIDAY TRAFFIC

The Easter holiday traffic in the Reefton district has been, the heaviest for many years, and the Lewis Pass route and the Buller Gorge have been well patronised by motorists. There are many visitors in the town. EASTER SERVICES.
At the Church of the Sacred Heart special services were held to mark the observance of Good Friday. At St. Stephen’s Church there was a celebration of Holy Communion on Thursday night to commemorate the institution of the Lord’s Supper. On Friday at. matins, the litany was said and the evening was marked by remembrance of the Crucifixion.
An evening service was also held at Wesley Church. Church services on Easter Sunday at Reefton were well attended. At the Church of the Sacred Heart the Easter Message was heard by large congregations, at all services. There was special Easter music. At St. Stephen's Church, Holy Communion was celebrated by the Vicar at 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., and Easter hymns were sung at Matins and Evensong. The speaker for the day was Miss Jean Holm, youth organiser for the Board of Missions. At the Wesley Church the services 'were conducted by the Rev. F. Trim, while at Knox: Church there was a visiting preacher. PERSONAL. Sapper F. Wells and Private F. Hampson, of J. Force, are spending Easter leave in Reefton with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. B. Roberts (Wellington), former Reefton residents, spent the Easter holidays here. 1 Mr. D. Porter (Dunedin) is visiting Reef ton. Private K. McKenzie _ (Christchurch) of J Force is spending leave in Reefton. Misses Audrey Sara and J. Bolitho (Christchurch) are spending holidays with their parents at Reefton. Mr. D. Latham of Christchurch Tramways Staff spent the Easter in Reefton.
Flying Officer lan Duff and Mr. W. J. Duff who have been in the North Island on holiday have returned to Reeftori.
