Incidents between Indonesian extremists and Allied troops continue in several Indonesian islands. Terrorists at Kolaka in the south-eastern Celebes attacked a Dutch police detachment, of whom five were killed, one was wounded, and eight are missing. Dutch reinforcements have been sent to the area.
A Japanese “observer” is reported to be accompanying a band of 200 extremists in the Palopo area, in Central Celebes. Four terrorists were killed and 13 captured on Bali. One member of a Dutch marine patrol was killed when the patrol was ambushed by Indonesians armed with machine-guns and rifles in the Sourabaya area. The usual exchange of small arms and mortar fire is reported from the Semarang sector.
