HOUSE OF LORDS

ABOLITION urged (Rec. 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, April 22.

The Co-operative Party conference carried unanimously a resolution urging the abolition of the House of Lords and all hereditary pensions and titles.

The mover, Mr. F. H. Peffer, said: “These people are no good whatever, either intellectually or politically. We do not want to do as the Russians did and throw them on the dust heap, but we are going to adopt a more humane way in asking them to retire by the will of the people.”
