ATHLETICS J. Walsh Main Winner at Camerons Sports
The Camerons Sports Club held its annual meeting in fine weather at Taramakau on Saturday. There was a good attendance. The main chop was won by J. Walsh, runner-up in the upright event, who defeated? C. Mitchell, the main winner at • St. Patrick’s sports last month. Walsh chopped from a front mark. The upright chop was won by a back-marker in R. Wilkes, while a limit man, A. Talbot, was successful in the second-class underhand.

Twelve months and under: Baby Duffy. Eighteen months and under: Baby Teen. BOWLING Coast Fours Prominent at Nelson [SPECIAL TO “STAK.”] NELSON, April 23. Of the 102 teams entered for the Nelson Easter Bowling Tournament, 13 were from. Greymouth, Cobden, Blaketown, Runanga and Blackball. Six of these qualified for post-section play. The tournament was conducted under ideal weather conditions on three days when nine rounds were played. At the end of yesterday’s play 36 teams had qualified for post-section play. The final will be reached this afternoon. Only one team, that skipped by Adamson, of Nelson, succeeded in winning all nine games. The games won by West Coast teams were: Greymouth—Crankshaw 7, Moss 7, Robertson 5, Kilgour 4. Runanga —Hadcroft 6, Massey 6, AVhite 5, Southward 5, Flood 3. Cobden—Stokes 6, Derbyshire 4. Blaketown —Longstaff 1. Blackball —Mountford 6.
Denton of the Greymouth Club, skipped Stokes’s rink. Stokes was unable to play on account of illness. The weather is beautifully fine for to-day’s play, when the Coast, will have Moss, Crankshaw, Hadcroft, Massey, Mountford and Stokes seeking victory.
