(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 22. Playing conditions were good when the South Island golf championship was continued at Shirley to-day. The fairways were in good order, ine greens were in particularly good condition. . „ . By winning their semi-final matches J. L. Blair and O. A. Y. Jok n " ston qualified for the final, which will be played over 36 holes to-mor-row. Blair defeated C. Caldwell and Johnston won from L. A. Watson. North Island Finalists (PA) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 22. A. R. Kitto (Wanganui) and RH Glading (Hamilton) are the fin al'ists in the North Island golf championship, which will be decided at New Plymouth to-morrow. Glading beat P. G. F. Smith one up in a semi-final that was anybody s game right to the last green when Smith was stymied and conceded the h °Kitto beat J. Holden (New Plymouth), 3 up and 2, after an exciting tussle.
