OPERA HOUSE.—Now Showing: “Tarzan’and the Amazons,” starring Johnny Weismuller and Brenda Joyce.

Newest and most exciting of Tarzan’s breath-taking filmic adventures, “Tarzan and the Amazons,” will be screened at the Opera House to-night and on Saturday, with Johnny Weismuller again in familiar roles, and a new “Jane,” Brenda Joyce, in the feminine lead. On their way to meet Jane, returning from a trip to Europe, Tarzan, Boy and Cheta rescue a wandering girl of the Amazon tribe (Shirley O’Hara), and Tarzan takes her back to the hidden country.

On the same vessel with Jane is a party of archaeologists who, on learning of the existence of the Amazons, are anxious to visit them. Tarzan, respecting the women’s desire for seclusion, refuses to guide the party. The explorers, however, persuade Boy to show them the way, and they are all captured and sentenced to lifelong slavery by the Amazons. Their efforts to escape, and Tarzan’s rescue of his son, form the stirring climax of the fast-paced picture which is said to be the most exciting of the series.
