REEFTON POOR RESPONSE

REPORT ON COUPON-SAVING SCHEME

(0.C.) REEFTON, April 17. The Reefton postal authorities report that to date the response to the coupon saving scheme for the provision of additional food for Britain has been poor. Few cards have been returned to the Post Office for the franking of food coupons. In a big percentage of Reefton hoines lunches have to be cut every day and this entails the use of more butter and in many cases also meat. The committee is hopeful that there will soon be a better response. EASTER SERVICES. Easter will be marked at Reefton, with the usual church services at the Church of the Sacred Heart and at St. Stephen’s Church, both on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. At Knox Church on Easter Sunday the services will be conducted by a visiting preacher. No sporting fixtures will be held at Reefton, during the holiday period. On Easter Monday the annual youth rally of the Young Anglican Movement, will be held at St. Stephen’s Church, Reefton.
