PASSING-OUT PARADE
NEW ZEALAND SOLDIER’S DISTINCTION
CEREMONY AT SANDHURST (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent.) (Rec. 10.15 a.m.) v LONDON, March 1. The distinction of being the last New Zealander to pass out from Sandhurst to take up a commission in the N.Z.E.F. is held by Lieutenant John Kippenberger, son of MajorGeneral H. K. Kippenberger. The salute at the passing-out parade was taken by Princess Elizabeth, who also watched the traditional ceremony of an officer riding up the steps of the Royal Military College behind the parade. Later she had a long talk with Lieutenant Kippenberger and his parents. Lieutenant Kippenberger will join the New Zealand occupation force in Japan.
