When the Karepo berthed at Greymouth last Friday, every effort was made to load her with coal and dispatch her as soon as possible in order to relieve the gas position at Auckland, but, because rain held up loading operations and, when she had completed, bar conditions were most unfavourable, the vessel was unable to leave until yesterday, and will arrive at Auckland next week, about six days behind time. Three other vessels also took advantage of the moderation in bar conditions yesterday to sail, some of them having been bar bound for a small period, and two ships entered the port. There was only a moderate swell on the bar this morning and it is hoped to be able to get both of these vessels away today.
