N.Z.E.F. AWARDS.

WELLINGTON, December 7. The following awards to members of the Second N.Z.E.F. in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in the field are announced: — Member of the Military Division of the Order of the British Empire (M.8.E.): Captain John F. W. Tonge, Wellington, ' Military Cross: Captain (now Major) Edgar K. Tomlinson, Nelson. Military Medal: Corporal Eric Mills, Pukekohe; Corporal Bruce Murcott, Mangapaehi; Private Alfred N. Carroll, Wairoa; Private Edward A. Goodhew, Queensland; Private Willis E. Gundry, Hokianga; Private William J. Pirimona, Auckland; Private Robert H. Stevenson,- Frankton; Private James M. Walker, Auckland. All the recipients except Tomlinson and Goodhew (who were discharged in Australia) have now returned to New Zealand. D.F.C.’S BESTOWED. WELLINGTON, December 7. A further nineteen Distinguished Flying Crosses have been awarded to New Zealand airmen for outstanding service on air operations overseas.
