DEMOCRATIC JUSTICE. LONDON, October 21. A proclamation just issued by the Allied Control Council for Germany suppresses the old terrorist Nazi legal'system and replaces it with a system on democratic lines under which all are equal before the law whatever their background. The main principle of the new system will be that nobody’s life, liberty oi’ property can be lost except through legal means. Any criminal offender must be publicly tried. Judges will be independent and. anyone will be permitted to become a lawyer, whatever his race, religion, or origin. ~ , n Luxemburg radio says that under General Eisenhower’s denazification order 30,000 Nazis were removed from public office or from leading nositions in the American zone in Germany between September la and October 15. Zhukov decreed the confiscation of all German Red Cross pi’°” perty and the closure of its central office at Berlin. Police, fire brigades and American occupation troops hurried to the rescue.
