BODIES IN MINE.
(Rec. 11.5 a.m.) ROME, October 23. The Venezi Aguilia Committee of National Liberation states that Allied investigators discovered 1200 bodies at the bottom of a mineshaft at Bassovizza, near Trieste. The committee asserts that there is growing anxiety throughout the region regarding the fate of Italians “deported by Jugoslav troops.” It requests the Allies to publish a list of the identified bodies found in the mine, and allow newspapermen to visit the scene. CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP OTTAWA, October 22. The Canadian Citizenship Bill has been introduced in the House of Com,mons. Canadians at present are listed under three categories—a Canadian citizen, a Canadian national, and a British subject. The bill confers Canadian citizenship on all native-born •Canadians, aliens who have taken out naturalisation papers, and British subjects resident in Canada.
IRISH QUADS. DUBLIN, October 23. Mrs. Kathleen Sayers of Bray, gave birth to quadruplets, three boys and one girl. One boy has since died. Previously the mother had twins.
