Soldiers’ Hall on Saturday night, when there was an attendance of over 100. Mr. A. C. Armstrong presided, and the Mayor, Mr. A. R. Elcock, and Mr. R. Bradley. Chairman of the Westland County Council, were also present. A varied programme of toasts and items of entertainment made an enjoyable reunion. The fire alarms were sounded yesterday morning at a quarter to five, I the cause being an outbreak in the wood and tool shed of Mr. W. H. Stcpforth’s residence at the corner of Bealey and Weld Streets. The building, with its contents, including tools, was totally destroyed. There was no insurance. The cause of the fire is unknown.
