MEETING OF EXECUTIVE

The newly-elected executive of the Greymouth R.S.A. met last evening, Mr O. McLean presiding. Messrs J. J. Crooks and G. Batty were appointed delegates to the annual conference to be held in Wellington on June 19, with Rev. T. G. Campbell as associate delegate. Mr T. Jones was appointed hospital visitor, and it was also resolved that Mr Jones be co-opted as a member of the executive. It was decided that the Ministers Association be thanked for the services of its members on Anzac Day for the past 25 years, and that a copy of the annual meeting’s resolutions regarding the Anzac Day services be sent to the sub-branches, the matter to be further discussea at the next executive meeting. Messrs Batty and A. Agnew were appointed an ‘advisory committee to assist members proposing to purchase or repair property. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr H. Kitching for a donation of £5 to the building fund, and to Mr H. Mason, general manager of J. C Wiliamson, Ltd., for granting the use of the Regent Theatre lor the Anzac concert free of charge. It was decided to co-operate with the Mayor of Greymouth in conducting a citizens’ V.E. ball.
