REPATRIATION PLAN.
LONDON, May 11. The British United Press reports that Canadians under 35 years of age who volunteer for Pacific service will be the first to be repatriated to Canada from Europe. Individuals with the highest point scores for service will be next repatriated, followed by the remainder who are not required for tlie occupation of Germany.
TAX CONCESSIONS
OTTAWA, May 11
Reduction of some special war taxes and the elimination of others, was promised by the Treasurer, Mr. Ilsley who outlined plans for a conversion to a peace economy. Special taxes on radio, building materials and household appliances are being removed. A warning against inflation was' given by Mr. Ilsley. He said the tax changes would assist in a plan to market consumer goods at the 1941 prices. The Selective Service Department would gradually be converted to a complete employment service department for workers. Controls would be eased as rapidly as was warranted. Travel restrictions t® the United States would be relaxed.
