REEFTON, May 10

The second day of peace celebrations at Reefton was marked by a children’s party and a free afternoon Picture entertainment. There was an attendance of over 500 at the party and tea. A collection was made for the purpose of entertaining the children with the Inangahua County subsidy realised over £4l in cash and donations of food stuffs were almost sufficient to provide the necessary food; In the evening a dance was held in the gymnasium, and an official welcome home was tendered to members of the armed forces who have recently returned from overseas duty. For the dance programme, Mrs. W. Nicholls played and Mrs. D. Ruthven and Miss J. Archer played extras. Mr. F. Boot was M.C.
