DISCUSSIONS AT CAIRO

(Rec. 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 19. ' Mr Churchill and Mr Eden have returned to England. After leaving Athens they spent three days in. Cairo.

RUGBY, February 19. The Prime Minister, Mr Churchill, accompanied by Mr Eden, ana Mrs Churchill and their daughter, Sarah, arrived at Downing Street, this evening. Mr Churchill, who was m great spirits, was greeted by members of the War Cabinet, several other Ministers and the three Service Chiefs. A small crowd assembled and cheered Mr Churchill heartily., SUBJECTS DISCUSSED, , Now Mr Churchill and Mr Eden have returned to England it is expected that a statement will be made shortly on their three days’ conversations in Cairo. It is surmised, .since their visit to Cairo coincided with the conference of Foreign Ministers of the Middle East, who, over the weekend, were drafting statutes of. the proposed Arab League, that this was one of the subjects discussed by them. This would very likely include matters affecting Syria and Lebanon. France is understood to be seeking an agreement with the Levant States, regulating their future relationships. Another subject which may have been discussed at Cairo is the organisation of food supplies for Greece, it is not known when Mr Churchill will make a statement in the House of Commons on the results of his latest journey abroad.
