ATROCITY IN HOLLAND
LONDON, Dec. 14. British troops in Holland uncovered the “black hole of Warnsum,” a dark insanitary unheated basement in which monks cared for 172 miserable naked lunatics, says the Associated Press correspondent. The Germans refused to move the asylum inmates and carried off clothes and blankets so they were unable to escape. The asylum was shelled and the cold shivery inmates moved to the basement on October 14, where they have been ever since. British civil affairs personnel are now caring for them.
