The death is announced of Ven. William Bullock, Archdeacon of Wellington from December, 1939, vicar of St. Peter’s Wellington, and formerly vicar of Masterton. —P.A.

The marriage of Miss Mary Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Martin, of Auckland, and formerly of Greymouth, to Lieut-Commander E. Lee-Richards, R.N., of England, will take place at Auckland on Saturday.

The death occurred at the Inangahua Hospital to-day of Mr. William Toppings, of Reefton, aged 73 years. He Avas born at Addison’s, near Westport, and was a raihvay surfaceman at Reefton for many years. He is survived by one sister, Miss M. Toppings, of Reefton.

Six West Coast soldiers are included in a list of sick, wounded and other personnel Avho have returned to the Dominion from the Mediterranean theatre. Mr. F. Hackett, M.P., who has been president of the New Zealand Tramways Union for two and a-half years and a member of the national executive of the union since its inception in 1938, retired at the annual meeting of the national council of the union and received a presentation in appreciation of his services. Executive officers elected were: President, Mr. W. R. Richards (Dunedin); vicepresident, Mr. E. A. Whitlow; secretary, Mr. P. A. Hansen; Messrs G. N. Amos (North Island) and N. R.
