KUMARA NOTES
The Kumara School Committee mec. Present: Messrs John Reedy (chairman), F .Rudkin, G. Malcolmson, B. Becker and H. Hamer (hoi:. sec.). The Headmaster reported the roll number was 65, average attendance 61.2, this being an improvement. The Board’s foreman had visited the school and inspected the heating system and is supplying a new pump. The dental nurse, Miss lairbrother, had commenced duties The matter of encouraging cricket at the (school was discussed, and it Avas decided to ask any members of the old cricket club if they had any bats or gear which could be made available for the school During the recent Aveek-end storm the wireless masts had been bloAvn down. The supply of new masts Avas left to Mr Rudkin. A letter from the Board stated that the grant from the Department had not yet been received for the extension of the infant classroom. Two new blackboards had arrived, and the Board’s foreman Avould report on the Committee’s application for a step-ladder. The discarded tank at the school was not for sale as it was to be used elsewhere.
fl he Secretary reported that since last, meeting the school piarib had been repaired and tuned and the account passed for payment.. Accounts P a^2, for Payment amounted to £6/17/-.
