WEDDING

MESSENGER—BRIMBLE

The marriage took place at Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, recently, of June Elizabeth, only daughter of the- late Mr and Mrs J. Brimble, of Greymouth, and Noel, son of Mrs E. Messenger and the late Mr R. Messenger, also of Greymouth. Rev. P. Kirkham officiated, and Mr Patterson was the organist. The bride, who was escorted by Mr N. Taylor, wore a fully trained frock of ivory slipper satin, made with a high neck-line finished with ruching, and trimmed from neck to waist with satin covered buttons. Her long embroidered tulle veil fell to form a second train and she carried a sheaf of madonna lillies, azaleas, and lily of the valley. She was attended by Miss Shirley Sweetman, who wore a frock of turquoise blue taffeta cut with a heart-shaped neck-line and very full skirt. A replica of the bridesmaid’s frock was worn by the small flower girl, Anne Taylor, cousin of the bride. Both carried lemon tulips. The best man was Mr J. Webber.

At a reception held later for relations of the bride and groom, at the Lyceum Hall, Mrs N. Tavlor, wearing a mulberry frock, under a black model coat, received her guests, assisted by the bride’s aunt, Mrs Dumbleton, wearing a —navy costume, and Mrs Messenger, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a black frock and coat, to which was pinned a spray of red roses.

When Mr and Mrs N. Messenger left by the rail-car, en route to the North Island, the bride was wearing a blue and white frock under a grey camel hair coat with black accessories. 1 e
