FAT CATTLE CHEAPER

Fat' cattle were cheaper by about £ 1 a head at the Addington sale, yesterday. but fat sheep' held recent values and store sheep sold well. Store Sheep.—The best price for ewe hoggets in the wool was 38/6 for a pen of halfbreds, and 37/6 for Romney cross; 210 ewe hoggets, shorn as lambs, made from 25/- to 29/6; 84 shorn ewe hoggets sold lor 27/-, and others ranged from 25/- to 26/6. The best shorn wether hoggets macle from 22/3 to 24/9. The ewes and lambs were of reasonably good quality, the best selling from 17/5 to 18/- all counted, medium from 15/6 to 16/11. Fat Lambs.—The entry of fat lambs was 816, against 512 last week. The quality showed a further improvement, and the sale was again a sound one. The highest price was for 14, from 36/1 to 39/10. Values were: Heavy lambs, 36/1 to 39/10; good. 27/7 Io 31/7; medium, 23/- Io 25/7; light, to 21/4. , . Fat Sheep.—Several pens ol good quality wethers were included in the entry, which totalled about 3700, against 3500 last week. The best of the grade cows sold at from £9 to £l2. good average sorts £6/10/- to £B/10/-, others including cows in profit, aged and inferior, £3 to £6/5/-. Best heifers made from £9 to £l2/15/-, medium to good £7 to £B/15/-. others £5/5/- to £B/15/-. Fat Pigs.—Light porkers, 55/6' to £3/1/6; medium, £3/3/6 to £3/8/6; heavy, £3/10/6 to £4/0/6.
