Mr and Mrs J. McGrath left, this morning, ior Christchurch, where they will reside.
Mr. R. A. Syme, of Christchurch, will arrive, this evening, for acting duty as Yard Foreman on the staff of the Railways Department at Greymouth.
Rev. C. Blair, of Nelson, Chairman of the Nelson Synodal District of the Methodist Church, will arrive in Greymouth, this evening. To-morrow he will visit Hokitika.
Mr F. A. Kitchingham left, this morning, for Wellington, to attend the annual conference of the Municipal Association. Mr F. H. Denton has left for Wellington to attend a confeience of Town Clerks.
Mr. M. O’Neill, manager of the Regent Theatre, Greymouth, left this morning for Christchurch on sick leave. In his absence, Mr. W. R. Blennerhassett, of Auckland, will be act-ing-manager of the theatre. Guests at Revingtons Hotel include: Mr. and Mrs. I. Davidson (Wellington), Mr. C. G. Rolls (Kumara), Mr. A. Umbers (Dunedin), Mr. P. H. Noble, Mr. R. S. Carety (Nelson), Mr. E. Booth (Blenheim), Mr. V. G. Hill' (Christchurch).
Rev. T. G. Campbell and Mrs. Campbell left, this morning, for Hastings, to attend the Presbyterian General Assembly. Revs. C. R. Sprackett (Reefton), K. Hadfield (Hokitika), and J. Doig (Ross) also left for Hastings.
The Auckland Hospital Board has appointed Miss Winifred Delugar, at present assistant lady superintendent at the Green Lane Hospital, to the position of lady superintendent at the Auckland Hospital. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Minister of Health. There were eight applicants.—P.A.

Mr J. I. Mcllroy, of the staff of the Public Works Department, Greymouth, left this morning, on transfer to Palmerston North. He was farewelled last evening by members of the St. Columba Club and was presented with an eversharp pencil. The presentation was made by the Presdent, Mr M. G. Kelly, who made appreciative references to the work of Mr Mcllroy for the Club.
The death occurred suddenly, today, at Invercargill of Mr. William Skuse Todd, auctioneer. Born at Hokitika in 1871, he went with his parents to Invercargill, where his father founded the firm of W. Todd and Coy. He was identified with the progress of the city throughout his life. He served as director for a long* period of the Southland Building Society. His wife died suddenly several weeks ago. —P.A.
Miss M. Harris, of the staff of the Greymouth Magistrate’s Court, who will next month enter the Stratford Hospital to take up nursing, was the guest at a farewell function yesterday afternoon. Mr. G. G. Chisholm, S.M., eulogising Miss Harris’s services, presented her with an envelope on behalf of the Court staff, Police Department, Government Auditor, and solicitors. Other speakers were Messrs C. A. Montgomerie, F. Bird, T. P. Ryan, and Senior Sergeant G. H. L. Holt.
