BASKETBALL. Playing at Christchurch, on Saturday, the West Coast basketball representative team defeated Canterbury by 21 goals to 18, after leading 12-5 at half-time. Local matches resulted: Convent Old Girls B defeated St. Mary A, 15-12. Convent Old Girls C defeated St. Mary B, 11-10. GOLF. The final round of the Blackmore Cup was played on the Greymouth Golf Club’s links at Kaiata, yesterday, and resulted: Woodhouse and Miss Sullivan 71. Foster and Miss C. McKnight 72, Tindale and Miss Reid 75, Rhodes and Miss A. McKnight 77, Lindley and Mrs. McCarthy 78. Foster and Miss C. McKnight won the cup with 226 lor the three rounds. . , The semi-final of the captain s trophy match was also played, Brown and Jacobs defeating Taylor and Moss, and Caulton and Tindale defeating Campbell and Lindley.
