BOXING
FOOTE DEFEATS HOGGART;# ' WELLINGTON, September 11
In his first appearance in the ring this season, Tot Hoggarth, 8.5, of Brunner, was beaten by Harold Foote, 9.3, of Wellington, in a 10round professional boxing contest at Wellington, this evening. After the first four rounds Foote had complete mastery of Hoggarth, who took a good deal of punishment, his gaineness carrying him through the 10 rounds. Foote’s longer reach, quick, hard hitting and more clever boxing gained him many points. Hoggarth was floored in the seventh, eighth and ninth rounds, taking a count of nine in the eighth.
