WOMEN’S BOWLING CLUB
The annual meeting of the Karoro Women’s Bowling Club was held at Harker’s on Tuesday, there being 24 members present. The report stated that the club had experienced a successful season and that the membership totalled 26. Trophy winners had been: Championship singles, Mrs. Coll; Mrs. Peek runner-up. Pairs, Mesdames Orr and Coll; Mesdames McDowall and Smart runners-up. Rinks, Mesdames Harvey, G. Joyce, Richardson and Coll (s). Handicap rinks, Mesdames Gunn, Harvey, Orr and Coll (s). Junior singles, Mrs. Davis. Thanks were extended to the Karoro Men’s Club for their assistance and to Mr. S. Peek for drawing up the championship and handicap games. The following were elected to office: President, Mrs. S. Peek (reelected). Vice-president, Mrs. T. Coll. Secretary, Mrs. W. McDowall (reelected). Committee, Mesdames V. Roud, P. Joyce, C. N. Gunn, R. Longstaff, and C. H. Davis. The retiring officers were accorded a vote of thanks for their services. Mr. Peek, as President of the Centre, presented the trophies to the winners. LEAGUE FOOTBALL. Marist seniors: Hopkins, Malone (2). Coll (2), Dunn, Teen (2), Scott, Mclntyre, Cottell, Watson, Rochford, Wratten, Stokes, Brixton, Mundy, Wallace, Lalor. Bus 1 p.m. ' Marist juniors (meet 12.50): Costelloe, Mundy, Kildare, Knapp, Meates (2), Dargan, Willis. Keating, Bisphan, Easterwick, Brosnahan, Molloy, Stapleton, Stokes, Brown.' Additional fixture: 7st 71b: Blackball v. Brunner, Victoria Park, 1.30 p.m. (T. McKenzie).
