Following an accident in the bush, Bernard John Hale, aged 29, married, a bushman. of Kotuku, was admitted Io the Grey Hospital about 7 o’clock last evening with injuries to the right leg. It appears that an axe the injured man was using slipped, severing several tendons. His condition Avas today reported to be satisfactory.
Ten directions to undertake work in a tobacco factory at Wellington have been issued by the National Service Department, Greymouth, to young women above the age of 21. In addition directions to the Hokitika Mental Hospital have been issued to four Hokitika and three Greymouth women.
