FINAL TRIALS WELLINGTON, January 20 Royal Merit impressed while beating Jeff by a length and a-half :>l tin. Phalc-rori and Babrow were among the most attractive of the sprinters, covering six furlongs in 1.15 2-5, the last four in. 50 2-ssec.

Beau Vaals finished two lengths and a-half in from of Whackie ai: the end of five furlong:? in 1.2, the lir--t in 13 I-ssec.

Te Awe .Awe, after running the first half-mile in 53sec, recorded 1.43 for a mile, Some Sing joining her for the last half-mile. It is not ceria in yei whether To Awe Awe will run in the Camp Handicap or in the Douro Handicap. Rink held Palfrey off by nearly a length at the end of a mile in 1.43 2-5, the"pair going evenly throughout. W. F, Ellis will ride Palfrey on Saturday.

Pensacola ran away from MontosoD’ie, with Hormuz beaten off at the end of five fulrongs in 1.3 4-5. Social Climber. Lord Broiefort, and Sea Quex going over the same ground in 1.3 1-5.

Entertainer and Sunblaze sprinted homo from the half-mile post in 51sec. Alchemy took 52sec tor the same distance. Poutautau ran five furlongs in 1.2 1-5, and Scottish Dale worked over seven furlongs nieelv in 1.29 4-5.

Trueway did five furlongs in 1.4 3-5. Arustra and Irish Note finished strongly at the end of a mile, the final seven furlongs taking 1.31. Voltaire and Bascule were on terms at the end of a mile, the last seven furlongs taking 1.33 3-5. High ideal pulled up lame after sprinting half a mile with Silvio in 49sec. E. V. Dye will"ride Silvio and Glenfalloch on Saturday. Greenfeast worked over seven furlongs in 1.31, the final four being done in 49 4-5. Greenfeast was doing best at the encl.

Skyhawk tirqp at the finish of seven furlongs m 1.28 4-5, the last four taking 50 l-ssec. Loti Rosa did not hit out freely while running six furlongs with Foxola in 1.17 1-5, the last four in 52 l-ssec.

Sir Wina and Lowry Bay sprinted seven furlongs well in 1.23 3-5, coming home over the last four in 51sec. Abdicate had two lengths to spare from Sal’s Pal and Sister Sal on the completion of six furlongs in 1.17

4-5, the last four in 50 4-5. Sister Sal could have done much better, alsb Sal’s Pal. Black Simon and Sunstream were well in front of Well Armed after sprinting half a mile, in 50sec. Corday sprinted six furlongs in 1.26, Theolateral recording 1.15 4-5 for the same journey, the final four taking 51sec, Broiefield ran the final half-mile of a working gallop over a mile in 50sec.

The Raker was restricted to pace work, but moved very short.' Macedoine was not. galloped, but she is very fit. Varuna was sore in one of her shoulders and is a doubtful starter in the Camp Handicap.
